A social network that follows the 90-9-1 rule has around 4500 highly active "creators." How big is the network? How many are "contributors?" How many are "lurkers?" Answers left as an exercise to the reader.

It's a good question! As far as I know, 90-9-1 is a very rough heuristic. Different networks have different properties, but "activity" is a power-law distribution of some sort.
