A social network that follows the 90-9-1 rule has around 4500 highly active "creators." How big is the network? How many are "contributors?" How many are "lurkers?" Answers left as an exercise to the reader.

ooh does that mean we should expect the power badge to scale at roughly 1% of users?

This implies Farcaster has extremely high creator % (10?) if 90-9-1 is about users, not just signups

So an active FC user is the one who interacts with the protocol by casting/liking/recasting? Asking since this is how we classify active users on Kiwi, and it ofc shows only a part of the picture. According to Google Analytics - we have about 10X more lurkers than curators, which would be aligned with 90/9/1 rule.

According to Twitter, 10% of users are responsible for 90% of tweets Farcaster has a similar pattern, 10.27% of users are responsible for 90% of casts

It can be fractal, too. As the overall network grows, it develops quasi-independent networks within it (e.g., sub-reddits, pages, channels) with their own structures.

Based on this rule, FC should have 40k users (9%) who contribute occasionally and 4.6k highly active users. This is not the case. It’s not a secret that we have many accounts doing CIB but we have no way of knowing how many real users are on here.

Do you consider this to be a problem, or a natural distribution of human behavior? Is the goal to shape a network where more content is created, or to encourage a smaller group of higher quality content creators.

Cryptic is right. Could probably blend creators with contributors? But it's a marginal group anyway.

0.01n = 4500 n = 4500 / 0.01 n = 450,000 Network size = n = 450,000 Contributors = 0.09n = 40,500 Lurkers = 0.9n = 405,000 But what does this have to do with horses?
