would like to consider the reverse of this. it has great insights for hiring, but i'd like to look at what job seekers can do to protect themselves also. having done enough discord moderation, i've deleted and banned so many scams for fake jobs and have heard too many stories of attackers being very skilled, socially. how can a job seeker ask for referrals, like a job hire-er can, when they're just one of many and need to comply to have a chance at making it past the next interview process? https://paragraph.xyz/@icebreakerlabs/deep-fakes-in-hiring

Great work interesting perspective! the people applying to jobs today are treated like sheep and the number of applicants for a job is touted as a stat of desirability- not surprising if you have to choose 30 to interview out of a large sample you will choose 6 DPRK spies - I am skeptical having applicants in numbers is at all meaningfully good from the hiring perspective and quite confident it is meaningfully bad - I wonder if 20% dprk spies is about consistent with the global us application base or if it is higher for specific pockets? I am sometimes tempted to apply at scale meaningfully to distort those performing anti-applicant procedures but I see how it could be attractive to dprk as well
