Donโ€™t understand the specifics of Hollywood strike and want to discuss. - what are specific demands in negotiations WGA/SAGA have? - if total residuals are up 30% this last decade but median pay per project is down 4% doesnโ€™t it mean there are more projects at lower budgets? - does AI directly play into this?

as for AI, WGA have called to: "Regulate use of artificial intelligence on MBA-covered projects: AI canโ€™t write or rewrite literary material; canโ€™t be used as source material; and MBA-covered material canโ€™t be used to train AI." https://www.wgacontract2023.org/the-campaign/wga-negotiations-status-as-of-5-1-2023

MBA = minimum basic agreement More on what that is here, as that's a big part of what's actually being negotiated on: https://www.wgaeast.org/guild-contracts/mba/overview/

Can WGA writers still use generative AI tooling to assist in projects that they work on? Basically every word processor has it built in now, and the tooling is only getting more extensive. The next generation of writers is going to grow up using this tech regularly and it seems unfair to exclude them.
