Example of how broken the legacy financial system is. I'm owed money from the 'gox settlement, and need to provide bank account info to receive the fiat.  They require a SWIFT/BIC code, but my credit union doesn't have one. So I go try to open up another savings account at BofA. Nope, they send me a letter a few days later saying they can't open an account for me, but won't say why. Crap. Try again, this time with Chase. This one works! Unfortunately after several months of them trying & failing to send money to Chase, they give up and say I need to register a different account. Damn. So I go try to sign up for new savings accounts again. Three more prominent banks deny opening an account for me (my credit is perfect, mind you).  Finally I succeed with Capital One... we'll see if I actually get payment though. What a pain in the ass.

*I'm pretty sure, but not certain the reason I am being denied new accounts is my transfers to crypto exchanges.

I’ve used capital one for crypto stuff consistently and never had any issues. Heard a lot of people have trouble with BofA.
