It's sad seeing companies like Meta (inspired by X I guess?) think that treating employees like sh*t will improve their bottom line. I don't think it's going to work well for them, especially with startups happy to poach all their best talent.

To be fair, if it’s anything like it was when I worked there, they treat their employees better than almost any other company in the world. Compensations get to levels that would be impossible for a start up to afford

I think this is a recent shift. Google (where I used to work) is going through similar changes -- it sounds like a hollow shell of what it once was. Weird vibe in big tech right now. Tech CEO cargo culting is a thing. But yes at least they still pay well, for now.
