We wrote a bit more about Merkle mountain ranges (MMRs), introducing our new Commonware primitive, adb::any, for managing authenticated blockchain state. For context, our first post on MMRs is here: https://commonware.xyz/blogs/mmr.html [1/3: click to read thread]

Blockchain state management typically involves a set of keys and values that get updated and deleted over time. If you think about the state of a database as the outcome of a sequence of the operations applied to it, you'll find the MMR makes for a natural fit! [2/3]

adb::any is an MMR-based store delivering minimal IO amplification while still providing authentication capabilities sufficient for a number of common needs. It also sets the stage for a number of future variants with growing capabilities. Check it: https://commonware.xyz/blogs/adb-any.html [3/3 - end]
