The reality of war: instead of meeting up with people who inspire you, you visit their burial sites at cemeteries 🥺🇺🇦 The last time I spoke with Iryna was to ask what supplies @crystalhearts could provide to her medical team before the russians killed her. She had a bright future and an amazing career ahead of her, but now she is forever 25 years old. We have many mutual friends who are still grieving; her absence is deeply felt by everyone. Got to visit today right before I left Lviv. She was a true hero and that’s not a word used lightly, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree awarding Iryna “Cheka” Tsybukh the title of Hero of Ukraine, posthumously ❤️‍🩹🫂

Yes, but also, war feels like such a general term to describe that loss. it’s people who come to kill other people, who are taking those young lives. I feel like when we talk about war, it’s important to speak about those who are causing it. Otherwise, it sounds like a natural disaster - like an earthquake or tornado - that just happens and takes lives. But this is about people, from very specific places. So in any war or genocide happening in the world right now, it’s important to remember exactly who is doing it, because if they just stopped, it would end, and no more lives would be lost ❤️‍🩹🫂
