A place to talk about New York on Farcaster

Thoughts on channel membership for /new-york:
– Add current regular casters as members
– Add any residents that I've personally met
– Allow members to nominate new members
– Offer "guest passes" for folks who are visiting
– Members must set their WC location to NYC

Love the idea of guest passes to keep it inclusive of those passing through - I could see that hard to manage approvals for.  Have any thought on how you'd vet those guests without a "request to join" function? Perhaps a frame of some sort?

This is where I think a "reauest to join" function would be extremely valuable.  I see how it could get cluttered with some of the bigger subs, but channel owners should have the option to either opt in to allowing reqeusts to join, or opt out - thats my two pennies.  again, hard to tell how it will work in practice until we get our reps in

I think I’d probably just start with having folks DC me and then move to a frame or more robust solution as needed
