contest creates a lot of complexity - everyone interested will need to invest time into it monthly - need unbiased judges to commit to reviewing all

we can play around with the scope of the contest? like - it doesn't have to be a full site it can be about a small, specific UX component or interaction

the review / bias issue is unavoidable but whereas in /memes rewards "the best casts" as judged by individual mods, contests would funnel effort and give it context? at least that was my idea

have you seen what benten is doing on x? these contests and the #DareToShare community have been hugely popular with designers, and generally speaking a net positive @jtgi check out those rules
