I was confused about why, despite the fact that I pay for YouTube premium and would never click an ad, they are clearly still farming my attention. Shouldn’t our incentives be aligned? 

Nope, they can always still extract more training data from me, and use that to get money from someone else.

I pay too and I think there is an option somewhere that disables this. In retaliation they make the experience super dumb, e.g. when playing a video it shows completely unrelated content. Home page is terrible with the same videos repeating all the time.

same here, but i consider the dumb experience to be a feature and not a bug. I don’t get stuck in the endless loop of scrolling.

The main problem for me is the shorts. I’d like good curation of long videos and no shorts in the feed.
