Does anyone know if its possible/a way to use @privy for user auth, but then use @neynar signer/write api for posting to the farcaster protocol? (since @privy's write functionality is still experimental)

Sure. Auth and writes can be totally separate. Associate users with their FID and Privy DID, and log them in with Privy/SIWF. Associate Neynar signer UUIDs with each user.

Sorry about the confusion!!! You can use Privy + Neynar side-by-side (Drakula does this for example!) but our write functionality is fully production ready, we just need to update the docs!
