Continuing the topic of cutting down forests, especially rainforests. Rainforests are also called the lungs of the planet. These green lungs of the Earth are not only a shelter for many species. They also save our climate! How much longer will we burden it?

The rainforests of the Amazon, Borneo and other regions produce huge amounts of oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. They stabilize our climate, slowing down climate change. They are also a shelter for millions of plants and animals that you will not see anywhere else. 
What will be the effects of these actions? Well, we’re facing an increase in temperature, unstable weather and changes in rainfall. It seems to me that the world should finally do something with it.

The picture is of a rainforest in Borneo. It’s about 140 million years old, one of the oldest forests in the world. Older even than the Amazon forests.
