Spam is definitely a concern, but we need to make sure we don't stifle farcaster culture in an attempt to reduce it

What does stifle culture look like? I think not giving users the ability to customize and control their experience is the worst.

Granular quality controls are super important (esp on user end), but if the channel mod meta is to use tools like content gating (eg actives only, fids < n, etc) then we may be introducing downstream effects like shrinking culture by orders of magnitude

Some of the best recent content I've seen is from new users

While I agree for pushing towards permissionless channels with full controls on the farcaster protocol, I think the warpcast client should be as inclusive as possible as long as it doesn’t significantly degrade feed quality

I trust the team in figuring out what the best balance is as we continue to scale

It's no secret that social media spam is a hard problem to solve for. It's even harder on a decentralized protocol. If users don't like how one channel operates, they can join another or just make their own.
