Howdy y'all, what do you think about SimpleLogin? I'm considering using it but I'm also on the fence since I would be giving away a lot of metadata to a central entity. I might also be introducing unwanted MiTM scenarios with 2FA. Are there any interesting projects (zk comes to mind) onchain that does something similar?

I've been using it since Skiff Privacy shut down. I consider it an incremental improvement over Gmail while realizing the tradeoffs of relying on the centralized service.

Makes sense, I might start using it in the interim. I'm also considering rolling my own, if I use a good TLD that could be a solid alternative. Not really keen on Proton and all their centralized collection of a lot of traffic data (VPN, mail, etc). I think providers such as Mullvad have done a more credible job of communicating trust.

proton business isn't selling data, it's defenitely better than than keeping your stuff at gmail and with good convenice for lazy ppl. for not putting all in one bag, mixing vpn/mail/email alias/pw manager/drive or hosting some your self is then the next step
