/ What to do when price isn't what you expected it would be A post I did for a DeFi community. ---- Some unsolicited advice from someone that has been here before. This is not financial advice. Do your own research. I understand what you are feeling. I have had the overwhelming feeling of doom about investments that you are having, more times than I'd like to remember. It is not permanent. It will pass. A. Posting about how sad/angry you are about price does not help people become interested in the powerful potential of this project. If people see negativity, then they are less likely to check it out, invest, and get involved. Post about the potential of the project to drive new users into DeFi and to make it easier and safer for TradFi to become decentralized. šŸ‘‡

/ B. It's been less than a week. I know many of you thought you could make fast gains on this & dump. To me, that isn't a great approach for this project. I posted on X why I am investing for the long term potential. I've interviewed 100s of founders & invested in even more projects & made an informed decision about the values and potential of the project. It will help if you step back and think about what could be. Look at the price history of $ETH, $BTC, or any other project that has endured the test of time. C. Think about buying more. When price and your overall value is down, one strategy is to reduce your average investment price by buying at a lower price(DCA). Then, if you decide to sell later, you can take profit more easily. šŸ‘‡

/ D. Don't be a jerk. The people on this team are honorable, hard working, & want more than you do for this project to succeed. They are betting 1000s of hours of work, years of experience as very successful entrepreneurs, their reputations, and their own money on success. Their incentives are aligned with yours. Stop being rude and stop denigrating them by making ridiculous accusations. It won't make you feel better, won't make the price go up, and won't help them grow the project. E. Think longer term. This project has the potential to change the fundamental nature of DeFi from a scammy wild west reputation to one that is professional, safer, & easier and could bring in big money & millions of users. šŸ‘‡

/ People often say that one of the things that has made #Bitcoin so powerful and enduring is that the holders from the beginning have had a long time horizon approach. They buy, hold, and do not care about the ups and downs of daily price, because they know the overall chart is up. So many of them have created generational wealth for their families with this approach and it has created a culture of holding that makes a huge difference in it's staying power. F. Accept what is. You are where you are. Being angry will not change that and will likely lead you to make bad decisions. Reset your expectations and time line. G. Be a part of something with a mission. Whether it is this project or another one, you should ask yourself whether being a part of something powerful, empowering, and world changing is important to you. šŸ‘‡

/ Most of us can remember when we were young being idealistic and dreaming about doing something to change the world. DeFi is that opportunity you thought died as you grew older, got a job, and started adulting. It's right here in front of you in any number of amazing projects that could have a very real and postive impact on other human beings. Pick a project or projects and invest your money, and then more importantly, invest your time and your heart into helping it succeed. There are a million things you can do to have an impact in your spare time. --- I could go on for hours, but I hope that all of you get what you wanted out of this project in the longer term. I am excited about the potential and plan to dive deeper into what I can do to help.
