okay let’s play AITA i’m walking down the street and see someone ahead we’re the only two on the street and probably 25 yards between us i realize it’s my friend of a decade+ who friendship broke up with me months prior (his choice but ultimately mutually agreed upon) i’m like ok let’s be adults i smile, wave, say hey (what else am i supposed to do?) he does not do as much as even acknowledge me marches directly forward, stone cold stare as if i am not literal inches away waving with no one else around us like what AITA for trying to say hi, should i have just pretended he didn’t exist too need outside perspectives plz

Nah, you did the human thing, which is always the right thing. You had the courage today. They didn’t. Perhaps, if you ever cross paths again, they’ll have the courage too.
