The practice of bridging between protocols today is absurd. 

The user friction is comparably frustrating to getting booted from the internet in 1997 when my home phone rang.

However 1inch still does an excellent job and there's rocketex as well, a lot of aggregation protocols in place to make bridging cheaper.
