two thoughts - changing your opinion should be appreciated and even celebrated; the only people who will get mad about you changing an opinion are fixed mindset mids (mostly) - optimizing for fun should be encouraged because it can mean optimizing for wealth; never fun to lose money (v different than spending money)

Have you read any of Daniel Ariely's books? He studies how irrational humans are and that they are predictably so. The resistance to change is one of the things he has analyzed. I am reminded of his experiment about how people will order food in a group. Most don't want to order the same item even though that item was what they had their heart set on. https://danariely.com/
