Maps like this seem counterproductive to their cause. If someone's main exposure to the phrase "American occupation" is things like this, and then they visit Seoul and see how great it is, why would they not conclude that "American occupation" is great and they should help more of the world become America-occupied?

If I were more cynical, I would claim that there's a US psyop going on to make people more comfortable with the idea of actual US imperialism by associating the term and related words with obviously good things like protecting smaller countries' sovereignty, and associating anti-imperialism with militarism and invasion

If it’s a psyop it would be the opposite: a take so bad that it’s purposely made to annoy people and create negative associations to the other causes it supports (according to the emojis: gay rights, Palestine etc). I don’t think it is however, there are stupidly dumb people in all extremes of politics.
