5yo asked for the whole family to pray before touching dinner. In a house that has never prayed nor spoken about religion. I let it roll as if it’s completely normal. 6yrs ago I would have said, “baby there is no such thing as a god and religion is for the foolish”, now, “believe it whatever makes you stay hopeful and optimistic of the future but the moment you stop questioning it, you’ve lost”

I match that feeling. I don’t think I could believe there’s a god even if I wanted but as such I don’t have any compelling reason to pass on to my children. As long as they remain some healthy critical thinking skills then I’m happy for them to have spirituality if it helps them cope with the world.
