doing more and more with agents to get the same results? how do you tell you are actually making any progress vs doing busy work

yes! i agree that quality is improving. for me i get a lot from back and forth conversations with the agent (pair programming)

my concern is when we can move 10x faster we should also try to move in right direction

I am noticing the quality of the work get way better. The issue is that it's an ever expansion of the remit that you started with. So you do stand still a bit at first.
