100% agree. Based on the deep research I have done, I really find very difficult to believe that the best intelligence of the world wasn’t aware of Hamas attack. Egypt warned them. Also, there is a huge gas reserve in strip sea, which Israel wants. I think the attack was the excuse to get the full control of the land

The US arguably had vague intel about 9/11 but didn’t act on it in time. Russia was warned about the ISIS attack on Crocus in March & called it propaganda.

It’s far more plausible that Israel ignored intel about the Oct 7 attack out of negligence and incompetence than let it happen in purpose (Hanlon’s razor).

For context, this is for the Leviathan offshore natural gas field deep in the Mediterranean Sea, 130 km west of Haifa.

The tender was launched in December 2022 and bids received by July 2023.

As for the gas, the Gaza Marine field has been known for 25 years. Israel previously abandoned any claim on it. It’s a stretch to think it’s a motivation. Israel started granting licenses to exploit the Leviathan field, which is theirs, well before the Hamas attack

As for Israel wanting “full control of the land”, why would they want that when they had it and deliberately pulled out of it in 2023. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_disengagement_from_Gaza. It makes no sense for Israel to want to administer that hot mess of a territory.

The reason Israel went back is to eradicate Hamas after the Oct 7 attack. Hamas proved itself untrustworthy after pretending to administer Gaza since 2007 when instead building up weapons and fighters and tunnels in preparation of Oct 7.

Not every Israeli move needs to have a deep ulterior motive.
