Multiple people have told me they started to create a FC account then stopped once they had to connect a wallet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I must admit I hesitated as well. I would have expected to sign up using only a wallet, or only an email, but it goes against my crypto habits to associate both. Also, as a hardware wallet user, it felt unusual having to install Metamask on my phone just to create a dummy wallet. That was extra onboarding friction.

Yeah both valid points but I do think connecting a wallet is what makes FC unique and it will allow for more innovation as more build on top of the FC protocol. The NFT feed that’s tied to users wallet address is one of the coolest features of FC imo

I think what would have made me hesitate less is if the UI had actually explained to me what the wallet is for. Is it just to verify the user’s basic crypto proficiency? Is the wallet my Farcaster identity? Can I change wallets later without losing the account? Will it be used to hold any token/NFT linked to FC? E

Agreed re: explaining what the wallet is for. I don’t necessarily think it’s to verify crypto proficiency. Yes, the wallet is tied to your profile and I don’t think you can change wallets but maybe @dwr.eth can confirm or clarify if there’s updates on the roadmap Lastly, I’d encourage you to check out the NFT fe
