50 isn’t the new 30. Mediocrity seems more palatable with cute slogans. It’s not ok to grow old without a legacy worth mentioning.

Read this as an 18 year old writing about turning 30 I think.

I was inspired by a LinkedIn post.. Someone posted ‘50 is the new 30’ as a feel good post. Which is fine on it’s own. But let’s not kid ourselves.. there is a world of difference between the ages of 50 and 30. People are often psyoped with these slogans into thinking ‘they have time’

I'm nearer to 50 than 30, so maybe some copium here. But professionally I'm still growing, now planning the last 15–20 years of my career. In retrospect I was a baby at 30. I don't look forward to the physical/health side of being 50, but in every other part of my life, I can still see significant & ongoing progress

Copium is fine and often healthy in small doses as it’s our brain’s way of helping us deal with the reality that we have finite time. You were not a baby at 30. You were a grown man at 30 years old. I’m happy to see you are still growing in experience and quality of life :)
