I’m one of those unelected dictators (not on /zk, but on /geopolitics and /science). If I consider a post to be irrelevant to the channel, and it is not egregiously so (like shilling a coin), I will usually try to reply with an explanation, and then hide the cast quietly. That way the person understands why and who

Also, I’m sure you know this, but for the benefit of those who don’t: “censorship” (the hiding of casts) is purely cosmetic and happens at the app layer (such as Warpcast). The cast itself is still on the hubs (protocol level) and remains visible to other clients and APIs, it can’t just be deleted by anyone

Which makes this an (understandable) grievance for /warpcast more so than /farcaster, except perhaps to the extent that Warpcast has such a dominant share of the client market that it’s virtually synonymous with the protocol in people’s minds
