My first reaction to this: don’t erect more gates / increase friction for legit users. Instead, be more explicit about hiding/muting/nerfing/shadowbanning norm-breakers.

I still see people asking why they lost their active badge, and their cast history is full of “follback”. They genuinely don’t know nor understand the norms (which, at client level, are largely unstated), and the consequences for violating them.

I think it would help the hosts if there was a client-level message about shared norms across FC (maybe for a week after signup).

My experience is that a lot of norm-violating users don’t know what the etiquette is, but also don’t want to be nerfed. Explaining it to them upfront would reduce violations

Challenge is it’s a lot of work for hosts
