Any Americans want to learn how to use their retirement money to fund a solo Ethereum validator node? I wrote an article documenting my journey: https://www.yamlike.com/archive/fund-solo-ethereum-validator-node-with-ira/

Please, for the love of all that’s holy, don’t suggest Lido as an alternative to solo staking. Lido is an economic attack on the Ethereum network, and newcomers won’t be aware of the harm that it does. At the very least, if you want to suggest LSTs, there are more decentralized alternatives.

What LSTs would you recommend?

I don’t recommend any. I only recommend solo staking. I understand that not many people can afford enough validators to make solo staking worthwhile (CapEx, maintenance, etc.). But the beacon chain exists to secure the network, not to create a rent economy at the expense of decentralization and permissionlessness. #1

So I’d rather we fix the incentives upstream, e.g., by enshrining MEV smoothing at the protocol level so as to level the “MEV lottery” playing field between solo stakers and large pool operators. It won’t make solo staking easier (which is a different problem to fix) but it will make it more attractive. #2
