Once the current utility from free tipping disappears with the final airdrop, is there a genuine long term bull case for $DEGEN? What will prevent it from decaying into irrelevance like the thousands of meme coins before it? Looking for serious replies, not $DEGEN to $1 memes.

IMHO >90% of participants in $DEGEN care not about the token nor its social utility, but rather about making money from either receiving tips or price increase. I don’t imagine them tipping once the free daily allowance stops. So, I have a wait-and-see attitude about what other utility the token might have to offer.

I also think integration of $DEGEN into a major Farcaster client, such as Warpcast, for native tipping, channel creation, channel passes, NFT mints, etc. would go a long way to sustaining the token’s existence, but I haven’t seen the Merkle team signal any willingness to do that

In my opinion, in the future, the Farcaster will go towards using or creating tokens for other services in order to use the market potential and ability of other tokens. It is clear that a meme coin should be expected as much as a meme coin. And $DEGEN function will be summarized for tipping.
