Once the current utility from free tipping disappears with the final airdrop, is there a genuine long term bull case for $DEGEN? What will prevent it from decaying into irrelevance like the thousands of meme coins before it? Looking for serious replies, not $DEGEN to $1 memes.

And before someone says “network effect” or “Lindy”, Farcaster has been around for nearly three years and $DEGEN for just over three months. $DEGEN isn’t Farcaster’s native and official token, and its current moat (free tipping) can be easily replicated by the next meme coin.

Quality discussion all around. The bull case I see for Degen is adoption. Degen is branding itself as a social token. If you you look closely, the team for the past months has been building the infrastructure and partnership for that to happen. I see a couple of viral apps coming out of Degen

I think it's actually more bullish (assuming there will be a base season) than bearish because the dilution is over. That said I believe very few meme coins can survive more than one cycle

Honestly I feel as if it will go into lp providers/ some form of staking/its became a social concept now and is beginning to prove itself and as always if the people believe and hold then of course price go up but personally I feel as if some big things coming. And it's beyond a meme it is this network and community.

I can see it sticking around. Just need some kind of in cast implementation that takes it directly from the wallet for tipping and don't forget minting nfts in degen through frames.

Warpcast attracted the audience by implementing the tipping policy and used $DEGEN for this. I think Warpcast could have done the same thing with any other meme coins. $DEGEN growth is due to the app. If the platform doesn't expand its features or integrate with other services, the token's utility might be restricted.

am watching for flywheels to prove out: - project buys $degen on open market to distribute to users - users flock to project to receive $degen and stick - new projects need $degen for attention economy (rather than alt memecoins) I understand the project grants, but they kinda muddle the signal. It's OK, I think

Degen did groundwork for real economy: 1. Positioning + Contribution to FC, Base, builders & powerusers > value-add for all from funding, distribution, use cases, early users 2. long-minded contributors do smart invests > fair launch > accept dilution to grow econ, onboard people (earn without buying but tips + apps)

If just 1 or 2 $degen-powered social apps grow its own community of loyal users, or some new use case comes out from the degen grant projects, it will last much longer than other typical meme-only coins. Thanks for this interesting conversation. Hard to find such reads around actually. 49 $DEGEN

The L3 memecoin will pump attracting more degens to lock their supply of tokens in the Degen chain. TVL will increase. New Dapps would be built on top of the L3 chain, onboarding more users. That’s the bull case.
