Witnessed my very first drone swarm (500 units) show. My mind is blown. Couple of thoughts:

1/ puts on fireworks manufacturers. NFA

2/ we are absolutely cooked the moment the drones become sentient and turn on us

Indeed, that and the precision in the location of the drones relative to each other. Mind blowing

The sheer volume is insane. Saw it in Hong Kong and the fluidity of synchronization was a marvel

I’m pretty sure there’s a black mirror episode (and a good one) on the exact same scenario

1/ Fireworks might actually retain its low-tech appeal – we like things that go boom. Aerial advertising may be somewhat more affected.

2/ It is enough for them to be autonomous and acting of behalf of a hostile entity. As Hinton has recently alluded to, something as effective as the Chemical Weapons Convention here is absolutely imperative.
