I constantly forget how incredibly grumpy and rude US customs and TSA is in comparison to the rest of the world They really hate everybody, especially people who don't speak English or mess up instructions yelled at them as they go by

MIA international departure, security checkpoint. I pushed my bag onto the divesting table all the way to the end of the rollers. But I couldn’t push it further onto the moving belt of the X-ray machine because it was completely backed up with bags from the passengers before me and the belt was stopped. Normally, I would just wait until their bags had entered the machine, and then push my own bag onto the belt, so that it would get pulled into the machine. But as I was waiting there, the security agent on the other side of the walk-in metal detector motioned for me to come through. As I was following his instruction and walked through the detector, the agent who was standing waaaay behind me (at the start of the long divesting table) shouted at me to push my bag through. I shrugged / signaled to him with my hands that I couldn’t as I was already past the detector. Normally, it shouldn’t have been a big deal as the next pax would just push his own bags, which would eventually push mine into the X-ray.

But the agent got super agitated, walked all the way up to my bag and threw it on the floor. Then he walked back to his position at the start of the divesting table. I was already past the detector and couldn’t just walk back. The security agent next to me murmured “yeah, he shouldn’t have done that”. I had to find a supervisor to go put my bag back onto the belt, while trying to keep an eye on my stuff as other passengers were coming through. Thing is, I literally worked for the industry regulator at that time. I sent a very polite email to the airport director with the time and date of the incident. He reviewed the security footage and confirmed my version of the story. He also informed me of the disciplinary action against the agent (although he didn’t have to). AvSec agents are supposed to facilitate security screening, not hinder it by throwing tantrums
