I tend more towards a contemporary quantum/panpsychist view.

Can you elaborate? Like the universe thinking about itself?

I'm not sure about the emergence of self-reflection on universal scales in the ways we tend to conceive it, but I resonate with the idea that consciousness is a fundamental property of the universe, like another quantum field.
