1/ I find it telling that price has overtaken every other meaningful metric, such as active wallets, transaction volume, number of validating nodes, etc. in the current zeitgeist. Camila’s tweet is the latest example of that disease. 🧵 https://x.com/camirusso/status/1849432939689341378

2/ In other words, the casino appears to have overtaken the computer, and the new narrative seems to measure the success(or lack thereof) of Ethereum (and other chains) by the price of their token alone.

TBH I’m sick of the endless posturing around it. ETH price will go up or it won’t. If you don’t think it’s good investment; sell. I’ll buy your bags.

Ethereum is also "losing" on two of the meaningful metrics you mentioned though

Right?!?! The biggest criticism of ethereum last bull was scalability/cost. Now that they have solved this issue people are complaining about it.

I don’t even know who they are referencing when they said leaders of Ethereum. I have literally never seen any of Ethereum leaders claim people are dumb.

Ethereum has executed its rollup centric roadmap but that also impacted ETH’s value accrual. Previously it was dominant in volume and fees but since 4844 both have trended down and ETH has re-priced. Long term, L1+L2 activity does need to increase by orders of magnitude for the network to remain competitive.

About 97% of what makes up CT is degens… plain simple. Ofc they dont give a fuck about “technology” or “fundamentals”. They’re here to get rich quick. Funny enough, we are the bad guys for trying to do meaningful things. But whats even funnier, is the rest of the world (normies) currently hates crypto (the ones who know enough about crypto to comment ofc) because of the degens. If it wasn’t for ppl like us, and the core contributors of Ethereum, crypto will literally be “illegal” in most developed countries. I doubt ppl like Marc Andreessen, Larry Fink, Sam Altman, etc, will be throwing billions for it to all to be a bunch of dog and cat coins. We cannot let the degens win
