EU Regulators are some of the most crazy people on earth. Tether is shifty but they cooperate with authorities & have had a sound product. https://x.com/blckchaindaily/status/1870170177158918552?s=46&t=d-xtpetMVTFUBXGUpbc0Ew

Tether stores most of its assets in properties such as real estate, Bitcoin, gold, and so on. For this reason, it doesn't hold one dollar in reserve for every Tether, which is the main reason for opposition to it.

But that’s a risk the users take? The last major multi billion dollar stable coin that lost peg was Circle USDC. I am looking at their reserves and it’s 90% immediately liquid with the rest in bitcoin & other things. I think they are just fine. And they are far less levered than a bank.

That's right, their situation is much better than having a 1:1 ratio of Tether to dollars.
