Fun fact: Did you know that bananas are radioactive! Bananas contain potassium, and a small fraction of potassium is the radioactive isotope potassium-40. This makes bananas slightly radioactive, though the radiation is harmless. You'd need to eat about 10 million bananas at once to get a harmful dose of radiation! This effect is called the Banana Equivalent Dose and is sometimes used to explain radiation levels in everyday life.
