Happycoin club - The largest Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX hacked by hackers. According to analysts at headphone cybersecurity company Cyvers, at least $230 million in various cryptocurrencies were withdrawn from the trading platform of wallets at addresses of the famous Tornado Cash Mixer. It later became known that among the stolen assets were SHIB, MATIC and GALA PEPE, which could soon be transferred by hackers to exchanges for further sale. The exchange team confirmed the theft of funds and suspended the withdrawal of funds in rupees and cryptocurrencies for an indefinite period. However, representatives of the exchange refused to name the exact amount of stolen funds. According to WazirX, the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Democratic Senator from New Jersey (USA) Bob Menendez, who called the first cryptocurrency “an ideal choice for criminals,” was found guilty of accepting bribes. According to NBC News, jurors agreed on all 16 counts, including bribery, extortion, acting as a foreign agent, obstruction of justice and several counts of conspiracy. Menendez accepted funds in cash and gold bullion for the Egyptian and Qatari governments. The senator himself denies the accusations, as does his wife Nadine. He promised to appeal the decision. Sentencing is scheduled for October 29.

Washington should declare Tigran Gambaryan, vice president of global intelligence and investigations at Binance, a hostage in Nigerian custody if his case is not solved by mid-July. Happycoin club Stablecoin issuing company Tether has frozen a wallet on the TRON network starting with the designation TNVaKW, which contains USDT worth $29.62 million. It is stated that this address is allegedly associated with criminal activity and money laundering. A representative from law enforcement compliance and investigations tools developer Bitrace explained that the frozen address was linked to the Cambodian group Huione's warranty business, which was activated on July 9, 2024. Interestingly, Huione attempted to bypass the freeze by creating a new business address TQuFSv and transferring $114,800 in USDC from the blocked TNVaKW address. Notably, Huione's older business address TL8TBp continues to operate. Bitrace suggested that the reason for the freeze is related to Huione’s involvement in money laundering, fraud and theft of cryptocurrencies. Such bans are quite common, as Tether seeks to assist law enforcement agencies around the world in the fight against criminal activity.
