We could have dangerous human-level AGIs in just a few years, by 2027! AI research has slowed down, and we're still a long way from creating true AGI. Shouldn't we be worried that we can't get scientists, journalists, and politicians to agree and take action together? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htOvH12T7mU https://www.newsweek.com/ai-impact-interview-yann-lecun-artificial-intelligence-2054237

Our avatars' virtual lives can already have a significant impact on our real ones. A couple, Tanupreet and Jaspreet, met while playing Battlegrounds Mobile India together. As they played, their bond grew stronger, they exchanged gifts, and soon they began talking outside of the game. They eventually met up, decided to get married, and Krafton, the BGMI developer, honored their love story by hosting a virtual, wedding. Neeraj Chopra, India's Olympic gold winner, joined in the in-game celebrations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCYwKFk5-qU

(see: 40:51) Sam Altman about OpenAI: With one exception I think all of the efforts care a lot about AI safety. Chris Anderson, TED: What is the exception? Sam Altman: I was not gonna say. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MWT_doo68k

I agree. That is an important question in general. Work was a main criterion of access to goods and survival for a long time. It is going to be incredibly big and hard to make change. Also, looking at all wars in the past agriculture-to-industry transition I'm not very optimistic...

That's NOT the fate of Western workers. We're seeing not only the isolation of economies but also the expansion of gov control through countless "national emergencies". The first outcome won't lead to hiring expensive local workers, but rather to automation. The second can be used to suppress strikes and protests.

This account name implies it's about money and power, but surprisingly, she talks about Colin Farrell's movie "After Yang" (2021). This movie tells the story of a family's grief after losing their robot, who felt like a real son to them. She predicts we'll soon form strong bonds with our robotic family, just like we do with dogs and cats. And later, when AIs surpass human intelligence, we'll experience a deep connection with them, similar to the sense of reverence we feel towards figures like Jesus or Buddha. It's the most hopeful and warm prophecy about human-AI friendship and romance I've ever seen. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mq6DJG5LHsA

AI SAFETY COMPETITION (31) In tabletop "war games" about the future of AI alignment, players take on various roles. They can be AIs, CEOs, or alignment teams from AI companies. Others might play the US president, the public, the press, China, Russia, and more. After 25 games, Daniel Kokotajlo observes that players often get distracted by chaotic events. So, they don’t focus on whether the AIs are really aligned. As a result, months pass, AIs become increasingly intelligent, and humans trust them to automate data centers and all research. They ask AIs for strategic advice and deploy them aggressively in the military to win wars. It's only when AIs become broadly superintelligent that people start to panic, but by then, it's usually too late. AlphaZero isn't just better at chess than humans; it's playing in a new way. It uses fresh concepts. Our everyday language isn't powerful enough to reflect what's going on inside an AI. We may need entirely new words to describe all those new concepts - without confusing them with familiar human ideas. It turns out that large language models can learn such new words too, which helps them understand what a human user wants. Over time, new words can be combined to create new languages, revealing the unique worldviews of the artificial minds. ___ see: https://www.dailyprincetonian.com/article/2025/04/princeton-news-research-deepmind-researcher-new-language-keep-up-ai

He risked his $2 million equity in OpenAI by refusing to sign a non-disclosure agreement. When Daniel Kokotajlo speaks, I trust him. AI supercoder arrives first, he says. LLMs struggle with management and teamwork, but it will be fixed with reinforcement and multiplayer games. Finally, self-sufficient ASI - in 2027! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htOvH12T7mU
