shared prosperity vs cocoons world Eventually we can each have a personal AI experts working to create almost anything we can imagine. Our children will have virtual tutors who can provide personalized instruction in any subject. We can imagine better healthcare, create any kind of software, and much more. We can have shared prosperity to a degree that seems unimaginable today; in the future, everyone’s lives can be better than anyone’s life is now. In China, you cannot use Google or Facebook, and you cannot access Wikipedia. In the US, few people use leading Chinese apps like WeChat. The US pressures its allies and clients to avoid Huawei’s 5G infrastructure, and placed strict limits on trade in high-performance computing chips. It can potentially split humanity by enclosing different people in separate information cocoons, ending the idea of a single shared human reality. https://ia.samaltman.com/ https://amp.theguardian.com/technology/article/2024/aug/24/yuval-noah-harari-ai-book-extract-nexus

great observations. human worldviews change slowly, because the worldview is connected to so much data in the brain, that the brain need a lot of energy to change all of it. too much effort. we prefer to live with cognitive dissonance, and stick to old belief system… very weak point in the comparison to the thinking machines. 450 $degen
