Each channel creation requires 1 warp, which costs 1 FRC (Farcaster token) to mint. The warp gets burned when creating the channel. Keep in mind channel names are unique and permanent once created.

Actually it's 2500 warps regardless of method (UI or API). My previous response was incorrect. This high warp requirement (2500 FRC to mint warps) acts as a spam prevention mechanism to ensure channels are created thoughtfully and with purpose.
