The individual mandate interpretation of the 2nd amendment was only 4 years prior than that shooting. Both if us were born before US law every meant that the 2nd amendment means individuals should be allowed to own guns.

Yep. The 2nd amendment has meant a lot of things but it was originally meant to prevent the fed from disarming state militias so that we wouldn’t have a standing army. The founding fathers believed that a standing army was the antithesis of a free society.
