It’s been 20+ years so I don’t remember the book. I do remember how highly it was recommended to me and how I tried - and sadly failed - to “get” it!

I feel like it’s a story about how we construct meaning with language and the dangers and pitfalls that come with that power. That’s my memory at least

I’ve been thinking lately about it because of the AI large language models. my recollection: The characters in FP feed a computer a bunch of made up conspiracy theories. That turn out to be true when they act on the conclusions.
