It’s been a long time since I read it (but I’ve thought about rereading it). What’s confusing about it?

It’s been 20+ years so I don’t remember the book. I do remember how highly it was recommended to me and how I tried - and sadly failed - to “get” it!

I’ve been thinking lately about it because of the AI large language models. my recollection: The characters in FP feed a computer a bunch of made up conspiracy theories. That turn out to be true when they act on the conclusions.
