excited to announce that I’m joining Merkle to work on DCs!

I’ve been working in social my whole career. I love building products that people want to use with their friends

but network effects can slow down innovation, and the field can sometimes feel stagnant

what Farcaster has going on right now is really unique
- a community aligned around shared values of digital sovereignty
- a talented group of devs building a shared, open infrastructure together
- a user base willing to try new things (and sometimes even pay for them!)

since joining Farcaster I’ve gotten more and more bullish about its future.

at this stage in its life, I think I can do the most to push it forward from the inside, working at Merkle

my initial focus is going to be on improving DC quality in Warpcast, but I’m really excited about protocolized DCs

the Comm team has spent the past 8 years developing a really differentiated private messaging app

but we’ve never been able to nail our GTM. network effects and switching costs have always been our biggest challenge

over the past couple months, I’ve become increasingly convinced that protocolized DCs are THE unlock that Comm needs

an open platform means that network effects can work in our favor instead of against us

today I’m announcing Comm’s new GTM: a premium Farcaster client focused on the messaging surface

this is by far the most optimistic I’ve ever been about a GTM for Comm.

Comm is not shutting down. 

in fact, while it might sound counterintuitive, I strongly believe this move is the best for Comm
