possibly, but to be honest my best guess is that tanersener got tired of supporting it... he's been off and on for a bit

Wow, not even a solid reason why they are going away. Plus pulling all their old binaries. Nasty.

If you only need compression/resizing, you could look into https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-native-compressor, but for anything more involved I'm still looking for a replacement
