Apple's idea of private cloud inference is a good one, but it has challenges: 1. end-to-end encryption 2. having enough context As far as I can tell, Apple's implementation will not be E2EE, and since it's not storing data it will have limited context.

weird if it’s not E2EE… what’s the point of the secure enclave then? I interpreted it as E2EE but I may be wrong

correcting myself here https://security.apple.com/blog/private-cloud-compute/ they explicitly frame it as not being E2EE not sure to what degree they can access the data, or to what degree the distinction is semantics
