instead of a story time i want to do a AMA in january i had a serious quad injury and in june i became british triple jump champion for the 11th time! i believe that my comeback was due to these five things: 1. research 2. diet 3. sports psychology/ mental preparation 4. intensive rehab 5. rest and recovery ask me anything!

that’s impressive comeback. which part of the journey was the hardest for you to overcome? Did you ever have any doubt that you would bounce back?

thanks for the q! the most difficult part for me was the initial shock of being told by the doctor that i needed to have surgery in an olympic year. i genuinely thought it was just a cramp. i kept getting flashbacks too which was new and blamed myself alot. i overcame the feeling of guilt when my doctor explained it was a freak injury and could have happened to anyone. i then shifted my focus to recovery. i deffo didn’t think i would win british champs , i came in ranked #4th or #5th and had only done two comps before it. however seeing how relaxed my competitors were and how they had clearly ruled me out gave me that michael jordan esque anger. i told myself that i will beat them, as i have done it many times before, and also told myself not to be afraid to push myself and then it just happened, and i jumped a 70cm seasons best!
