she's more fun and it makes logical sense to me that they would choose to be together as they don't owe their outies anything.

That's fair. Would be nice to see more of Gemma.

Mark is not a great guy which makes it hard to root for him (granted he has valid reasons for being grumpy). 

We never saw Mark & Gemma together except for the 1 episode, and never knew Gemma was alive until end of season 1, so Mark S and Helly R is really who I am rooting for.

I'm not convinced she's "more" fun since we've only really spent 1 episode with Gemma.

And I agree that the Innies don't owe the Outies anything.

But the story - the whole premise of the situation - starts with Gemma and Mark's relationship. And now we know that the cause of their separation (i.e. her death) was fabricated.

So seeing them back together is the goal.

My guess is that somehow the Innies will discover the tech that enabled Cold Harbor and use it to transfer their consciousnesses into new bodies so that Innies can live without relying on their Outies' bodies. Then everyone is happy
