Anyone else feeling ambivalent about RDJ's return to the MCU as Dr. Doom?

Yeah doesn't feel right to me. Tony Stark RDJ was an iconic character. You don't mess with that.

100%. Bringing back RDJ is basically them admitting defeat and that they are out of new ideas. Marvel had a good run though but time to pack it up.

Exactly! It feels so lazy and cheapens the legacy of RDJ's Iron Man. 

I'm still waiting to see how it turns out, but it just seems to signal that they are running out of ideas and are counting on fan service to sustain momentum rather than a well-executed story.
