How do you become better at understanding poems? I just cannot seem to get it well. Any advice?

I really love the NY Times poetry critic's poem analyses, they're quite beautiful in their own right and I find pretty accessible even if you're not familiar with the poet or form:

I would say it's like lots of art , some things speak more to you than others. Are there particular poets or poems you struggle with ? Or that you like ?
