This week I built Python flows to process images for a huge unique book covers project, our biggest yet with /alexandria (which is going to be on Base of course, and designed to onboard mystery/thriller fans worldwide!).

The book bans in Utah are really scary! This is the first state to outlaw titles statewide. Librarians are being instructed to literally send books to shredders. This is why we need permanent books that can’t be censored. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/06/books/utah-public-school-book-ban.html

BaseCamp 001 — THANK YOU! /alexandria started using Base for our books because, yes, Base is fast and gas-efficient, but mainly because we could see that the creative energy and excellence on Base are special. This week made it clear our instinct was right. I can’t overstate how lovely and invigorating it’s been to get to talk to the people who are building Base in person, and to meet so many of the creative and innovative people building on this technology, or gracing it with their art. Can’t wait to keep building for readers with the Alexandria team — and some of the incredible artists and writers I met this week! #BooksonBase are real and here, right now! And they’re gonna get better and better <3

We celebrated the release of Riffs in true G. Bruce Boyer style at @TheArmouryNYC. I’d heard saxophonist Barry “Bee” was going to perform—”He played with Prince,” a friend whispered to me—but what I didn’t realize was that he would be performing among us, moving from group to group.
