So the US government doesn't have their own special encrypted messaging system with the most advanced UFO sourced encryption tech imaginable....they are using Signal just like everyone else lmfao and they don't even know how to use it properly. And yet people still want the government to be in charge of their lives when they can't even handle keeping a secret. The state is bloated, corrupt, and incompetent it shouldn't be in charge of anything.

The disagreement I have with this thinking is that the government does have their own messaging system, and very strict rules/procedures around how these things are to be discussed. The problem is that the Trump admin, which is full of people with little to no govt experience, scoffs at these procedures and ignores them. They're also in the process of gutting agencies, crippling programs, and making the government run slower/worse for people that use govt services. So in many ways it's a self-fulfilled prophecy orchestrated by people who already have intense contempt for the government.

Then this just another demonstration of why this system of governance is a complete failure. The dream we have been sold is that a system of checks and balances should protect us. If the rules and procedures designed to protect our national security can be so easily ignored than they aren't worth the paper they were written on. What I'm trying to say is that if Trump and his cronies are as dangerous as the left thinks they are, then the entire system is broken because if isn't even strong enough to survive one bad administration. We have given the state unlimited power and now we are experiencing the consequences of that.
